The revised edition of The One Ring Roleplaying Game is in gaming stores in both the US and the UK today, so make sure you swing by and pick up a copy!
We thought we’d share another extract from the game today, this time from the character creation chapter. Every hero in The One Ring is created from two parts – their culture, which is where they are from, and their calling, which is the reason they are adventuring. There are five separate callings for players to choose from, from Scholar to Wanderer, and which one they choose determines favoured skills, traits and, perhaps most sinister of all, their Shadow weakness.
You can find more about callings and character creation in The One Ring here.
About The One Ring Roleplaying Game
Smaug has been defeated, the Battle of Five Armies has been won, and Bilbo has returned to the Shire. But much danger still remains, and from the Orc-holds of the mountains to the dark and corrupt depths of Mirkwood a darkness waits, recovering its strength, laying its plans, and slowly extending its shadow…
The One Ring Roleplaying Game is based on J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings. Chock full of incredible artwork by leading artists, including John Howe and Jon Hodgson, and with evocative rules designed by award-winning games designer Francesco Nepitello, there has never been a Lord of the Ringsgame that’s more evocative of Tolkien’s unique vision.
