Industry Insider Guest of Honour
We're proud to say that our Art Director and Deputy CEO Jon Hodgson will be an Industry Insider Guest of Honour at Gen Con 2014 for the second year running. Jon's seminar schedule runs like this:
Thursday 12pm - Art Matters
Why do hobby games have so much art in them? Novels don't. Why do games need art to sell, and do they need art to be good games? With Jon Hodgson, Elisa Teague and Richard Thomas.
Thursday 3pm - Return to the Castle of Gender Representation
Last year Industry Guests spoke about gender representation in gaming art. The seminar was packed and wonderful discussion ensued. What has changed in a year? With Jon Hodgson, Steve Kenson, Nicole Lindroos and Rich Thomas.
Friday 12pm - A Career in Gaming
Something a lot of people want, few achieve, even less break even. War stories and examples from those doing it. With James Ernest, Jon Hodgson, Eric Lang and Ryan Miller.
Saturday 10 am - Cross Media Chaos: Working With Media Properties
Something a lot of people want, few achieve, even less break even. War stories and examples from those doing it. With Jon Hodgson, Steve Kenson, Nicole Lindroos, Jay Little.
The One Ring Hardcover Pre-order Update
The ship carrying the One Ring hardcovers docked last week, and the shipment is now making it's way to our Atlanta warehouse. It's due to arrive just before the Gen Con weekend, mid-month, and work will begin immediately on shipping out your pre-ordered copies.
This means two things:
1: You'll be getting your copies of The One Ring Roleplaying Game very soon!
2: It also means we'll have a strictly limited stock of copies available at Gen Con for purchase by convention attendees. Gen Con is a unique event in the gaming calendar, and just like in previous years we want to have our most prestigious releases of this year at the show. Pre-ordered copies of The One Ring Roleplaying Game will already be being processed at that time, so if you're coming to Gen Con there will be no need for you to lug that satisfyingly heavy hardcover around the show. It will be being sent to your home whilst you enjoy the convention.
Of course if you are at the show feel free to drop by the Cubicle stand and take a look at The One Ring Roleplaying Game in the flesh. Pick it up, smell it, leaf through it's delightful pages. But there'll be no need to collect one from the show. Your pre-order will be on it's way.
We provisionally anticipate the US retail release of The One Ring Roleplaying Game to be the 10th of September. UK and Europe release date to follow.
